Change Communications

“The single biggest problem
in communication
is the illusion that it has taken place.”

George Bernard Shaw

Change communication is a specialised skill. It goes beyond traditional employee communications, requiring a deep understanding of change management principles and hands-on experience navigating complex transformations.

Communication can make or break successful business change

Change is never easy—but the way you communicate makes a big difference. Keep your people engaged and your project running smoothly when you’re restructuring, launching new systems or redefining your company culture. To get it right, you need an expert with a proven track record in designing and delivering effective change communications.

We Make Business Change Smoother

At Alexander & Associates Advisory, we help companies communicate change in a way that makes things easier, not harder. We help smooth out the squiggles and curves that can derail change by engaging all those affected by the change at the outset, matching the communications strategy to the business objective and creating a compelling narrative.

Effective Communication Makes Change Stick

Keeps Everyone Aligned

A good communications plan ensures that messages are clear and consistent and everyone, from leaders to frontline teams, know what’s expected of them.

Reduces Uncertainty & Pushback

Your people don’t like being in the dark so explaining why change is happening and what it means for them increases buy-in.

Prevents Disruptions & Keeps Productivity Up

Good communication ensures there is no vacuum for rumours and speculation to take hold and helps teams stay focused and moving forward.

Builds Trust & Engagement

When employees feel heard and informed, they’re more likely to support the changes rather than resist them and turns confusion into confidence.

Protects Your Brand & Customer Trust

Big changes, such as mergers, restructures, or new tech systems, impact more than just employees. How you communicate with customers, investors and the public can shape your company’s reputation.

Language Matters

Jo knows that true success not only means meeting corporate objectives but effectively navigating media and political scrutiny, ensuring shareholders understand the rationale, and most importantly, treating employees with transparency, fairness and respect.

With nearly two decades of experience at Shell, HSBC, and ANZ Banking Group. Jo has played a key role in large-scale change initiatives, from introducing new operating models and reporting structures to merging business units, selling commercial entities and reducing operating costs.

Major Incident Communications

Communicate.
Simply. Clearly. Quickly.

Being Ready for a Crisis

Organisations inevitably face crisis. When that moment comes, the outcome depends on how well you’ve prepared—especially in how and when you engage with stakeholders.

With 14 years in the banking industry, Jo has deep expertise in managing crises and business continuity challenges, especially related to technology outages that affected millions of customers being able to access their accounts.

Importance of Stakeholder Communication

A single system failure in modern banking can have a significant impact on services, frustrating customers and posing serious reputational risks.

At ANZ, Jo led a communications team that played a key role in developing communication playbooks, stakeholder engagement plans, and crisis response protocols for scenarios ranging from IT outages to data breaches and cyberattacks.

The key is clarity, speed and consistency – even when you don’t have all the answers, and thinking about all of your stakeholders from customers to Government, regulators, shareholders and employees.

Career Coaching

Coaching Services

Coaching is a powerful tool that can help you to refocus, reframe and reflect so that you feel more in control of your career.

As a leader of large teams, Jo quickly realised that coaching, rather than just managing, led to better results. She learned powerful techniques from top professional coaches and later earned a Graduate Certificate in Organisational Coaching from Swinburne University in Australia.

Today, Jo works with individuals and executives to help them grow, overcome challenges, and gain clarity on their goals. Whether navigating a career shift, tackling obstacles, or exploring new opportunities, coaching provides a structured yet flexible way to move forward with confidence.

Her coaching programs typically include six sessions of 45 minutes to an hour, held fortnightly or monthly—either in person or online.

“Coaching is taking a
player
where they can’t take themselves.”

Jose Mourinho
